Education by the Behaviour Ecology Group covers the whole field of animal behaviour, including basic behavioural mechanisms, behavioural ecology, applied animal behaviour, animal welfare and life history decisions. Our courses are directed towards both Biology and Animal Science students.
Visit the Study Handbook website for more detailed information about our courses. It is also possible to follow courses abroad. For more information contact your study advisor.
In addition, we welcome students to do a BSc thesis / MSc thesis in our group or an internship in collaboration with our group.
We developed a first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) called “Introduction to Animal Behaviour” in 2016. The course platform was EdX. More than 50,000 participants subcribed to this course, which consists of small lectures, interviews on specific topics with specialised scientists, as well as of practical assignments. Class central listed this course among the "best online course of all time" courses. Check the course below for more information.
In 2022, we developed a second Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) about “Animal Behaviour in Conservation”. This course tackles key animal behaviour concepts that concern relevant conservation challenges, and you will learn how behaviour can serve as an indicator to inform conservation management.
Check the course below for more information. We hope you will enjoy this new course!
We also have a new course called "Doubt, Dilemmas, Discourse and Dogma in Science" in Period 4 (February 2023) for 3 ects (MSc). The course is open for any study program. During this course, we will discuss, exchange and critically think about practice of current issues in science (i.e. from the values of p-values to the scientific standards of political decisions, and everything in between). Do not hesitate to join this course. Enrol now!
